yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay i finished my packing yesterday..have my passport ready..just need to stop by costco tomorrow to get a calling card, some bottled water, and energy bars. oh yah and wal-mart for some water shoes..hehe..and i'll be good to go..man this week went by faster than i thought..i have a feeling that tomorrow will be a long day cuz i'll be so anxious to go..ha, but lucky me has all this work to finish up before i leave..otherwise if i don't finish it, i bet i'll totally forget what i was doing when i get back to work..ehhh no time to think of that..time to concentrate on a fun vacation..yippee yay yahoo..

okay, so i have no idea if i was pms'ing a few weeks ago..but i've been starting to wonder if i'm actually fitting into the stereotypes about engineers..how they don't socialize..they're boring..they sit in their cube in front of their computer all day long..yada yada..well i think i'm falling more into the "non-socializing" aspect about it at work..i dunno..if you know me, you'd know that i'd rather keep my social life apart from work..but yet there are the few people at work that i do enjoy talking to..just lately..i've been getting annoyed with everything/everyone..and i'd rather just be in my cubicle or in the field doing work..sad isn't it?

i don't really know how to explain it..it's like there's certain people you want to trust..but then you have no idea if they're going to go to the next person and blab it all out..that's what sucks..how weird, that in school it was so easy to meet people and become friends so easily..for some reason..here at work..it's like everyone seems to have their own agenda..they're looking out for just themselves..and if they have to step on you to do that..or just to make some kind of "water cooler" conversation about you..then i don't care for it..ehhhh i sound so bitter..i think i really am in need of a vacation..haha, maybe this will all go away and everything can go back to normal again..

anyways, i got a new pair of glasses..i ended up forgetting my old pair at mel's house in vegas..and i had to wear my contacts all last week..man, my eyes got so dry..so i gave in and bought a new pair..reverted back to the wire frames..well half wire half no frame around the lenses..hehe took some getting used to..but after i get my plastic ones back..then i'll have 2 to choose from..oh the excitement..haha

man it looks cold outside..and i'm wearing sleaveless..great..stupid weatherman..well maybe it looks cold..but it's really humid out..i'll see at lunchtime i guess.

so we're leaving for costa rica this friday on the red eye flight..i feel like i'm not as excited as i should be..don't get me wrong..i've ben soooo looking forward to this vacation..i think i'm just in that stress mode right now..getting everything settled with the travel agent..still trying to decide what clothes to bring..ha! i haven't even opened a suitcase yet to pack!!..and then there's the monotonous work week lying ahead of me..i'm sure the excitement bug will kick in in full throttle thursday night..haha..by then i should be good to go..

i still can't believe i'll be in costa rica this saturday..i'm sure once we land it'll all feel so surreal. my dad keeps comparing it to the p.i. though.

me: "yah we're going to the rainforests dad!"
his response?
dad: "oh we have lots of rainforests in the philippines! but then if you go there (in p.i) you might get kidnapped." grreat!

me: "well, we're going to arenal too! one of the most active volcanoes in the world!"
dad: "ay, the philippines has volcanoes too! that might be dangerooooos"

me: "what do you want me to bring back for you? i heard their coffee is good."
dad: "coffee? that's all they have? okay yah, bring me coffee then"

hahahha thanx dad for making my trip sound as exciting as any old family vacation we could have in the pi. he's so funny sometimes..i know he's happy i'm traveling though..he wants me and my sisters to go to as many places as we can before we settle down..cuz i know he wanted to do that too..i hope he does when he retires though!..so yah..i'm making sure that by the time i'm 28 i'll have been to all the places on my worldly travel list..yeeha..

until then i have to get through this work week..blah..why work? can't we all just barter for stuff like the olden days? things just seem so much easier back then.

oh man..i did the most horrid thing yesterday..so i've been having to go out driving again for work right?..and i'm driving down figueroa..kinda ghetto area..and i see this lump in the road..i figured it was a ripped tire strip..cuz there were a lot on the road..so i was getting w/in a car's length from the "tire strip" right..when all of the sudden a HEAD pops up!!

it's a freaking pidgeon sitting in the middle of the road!!! i can't swerve to dodge it cuz i'd run over it with the tires since i was so close..so i figure, i'll make sure that i get it in the middle of my path to avoid the tires and i'll just go right over the bird w/o harming it..ummm yah..i must've forgotten that i wasn't driving my 4runner..which i think if i did, my plan would've worked..instead, i was driving a PRIUS!!! and those cars are soooo low to the ground..so yah..i go right over the bird..thinking, yay i didn't run over it!..i was wrong=(..i look in my rearview to make sure the bird was okay..then i realized that the car was too low for me to clear the pidgeon safely..i just saw wings flapping..and then there was no movement..i was in such shock..i killed a pidgeon=(..maaaaaaaaan..i feel so bad! i think this is karma for me for making fun of my cousin a long time ago when she hit a pidgeon while she was backing out..

so i had to blog about this..even if it's really disturbing to some..but i had to get this out of my head..i keep picturing the wings flapping and it gives me shivers..sorry..so sorry mr/ms. gray pidgeon who had to be hiding its head while i drove by..i hope your okay in birdie heaven.

yesssss....it's almost the weekend..and 16 days til costa rica..can't wait..i'm so in need of a vacation right now..just want to relax and not think of anything anymore..or at least for the 8 days that i'll be off..

it's funny..over the weekend me & lou went househunting..yet again..but this time both of our parentals came along!!..this is just the 2nd time that they've hung out w/ one another..and i'm glad they get along and stuff..but dude, haha shopping for houses with them...so funny..forget having one parent critique something..now we've got 4 different voices to hear from, 4 voices to tell us what to do and look for...hehe..i don't mind though..i'm grateful that they came out and were able to do this with us..just still weird to know that they went out helping us look for a house..ha!

i can say though, that my parents and lou's parents are sooooo the opposite..at least i think so..my dad is so fobby and corny..hehe..but in a cool way of course=P..his dad, soooo liberal and open-minded...my mom has somehow regressed from her business suit, power driven woman attitude..to.."i just want to live a simple life now"..lou's mom? the oh so hip and trendy mom..that's why i think it's always a trip to see them interact with each other..

somehow, despite their differences..they are still alike..and they do get along=)..which i'm very happy about.

so anyways, i've been in the field a lot this week...driving the streets of downtown l.a....and everytime i do, my imagination goes on its own..thinking how it was to live back in the day..when there were no signals..it was just police officers managing traffic for those old school t-model cars (is that right?)..the cool architectured buildings...with laundry lines hanging from the balcony and you could scream across to your neighbor in the next building..where the ladies had the curled up hair and hats with little veils over their faces with polka dot dresses and white gloves..

heheh okay overboard i know..but yah..that's what i keep thinking of..and then i see the downtown of now...the pretty buildings are now rundown w/ broken glass and boarded up doors..there are so many cars on the road these days it's insane..people aren't wearing polka dotted dresses and white gloves..more like ripped up clothes with shoes that are 2 sizes too big/small to wear..forget yelling at your neighbors from across the way..the people i see these days are just screaming like they're on crack..it's sad you know? so instead of feeling sad for how things are now..i dig into my imaginary mind and picture my version of a beautiful downtown..i'm sure one of these days it'll be nice again..but that'll be awhile...i always wonder though why our downtown seems the dirtiest out of a lot of other downtowns i've been to..

ahhhhhhhhhhhh apologies to those who i was online w/ last night=P..hehe i thought i got a cool picture from cat..oops..mi mal..funny how johnjohn even said that he knows none of us girls really write "omg" in an im..man, i should've known better! so yah..i apologize again.

so okay..we're hunting for a room still for vegas right? and as i'm looking up hotels w/ sherwin..i get a call from "hilton grand escapes"..they tell me that i can go to orlando or vegas for 3 days/2nights for a total w/ taxes of $151. now all i have to do is give them my credit card info and i should receive an email confirmation in 2 business days and the package to use my vacation pass within 7-10 business days..now i don't need to tell them my travel dates..just give my credit card info..the only thing that sounded legit to me, was that they knew i stayed at one of their hilton chains before...but ummmmm, their only way to show me how for real they were was to get on a landline (cuz they called my cell) and to call back the number (it was a 407 area code..which they say is their customer service number) and once i call that same number that appears on my caller id, a hilton rep will answer...so, let me see...good deal right? i was soooooooooo tempted to take it cuz they were offering a dope ass room at the new hilton on the strip and it's perfect timing for next weekend..but at the same time i'm like..dude, i'm suppose to just give you my info on the phone? i asked to do it on the hilton website..but they said that it's only valid through the phone..and they kept saying, "so, would you like to put this on your visa, mc, or american express?"

ha..so after much willpower i finally told the guy that i can't trust it...but man..if it is for real..that would be a doooooooooope deal..oh well..can never be too trusting..haha look at what happened w/ me last night and aim..oops=P

so yah..weekend was spent yet again househunting..ehhh it's so fun yet so depressing at the same time...so no talk about that right now..

oooooooooooh on friday me & boyfriend did the swing thing w/ the big band at the music center..although we wanted to learn more than just the basics that they taught..it was still fun..and romantical..heheh...seriously, downtown can be pretty at night..they had the little asian lamps going on..the band...the stars..the skyline..ahhhh...i would definitely do it again..i think they might have one in 2 weeks..any takers?..mucho fun peoples!!
