so it's been almost 2 months of being mahreed. gotta love it, it's fun. though there's been 2 recurring questions in almost every conversation i've had since being back. how does it feel to be married? are you pregnant/having babies soon? hahah it's kinda funny i guess. i'm glad to have the small talk, but once that attention turns to babies and people wanting to rub my belly..hahah umm no. sorry. not for a while. i can answer the questions now, so that strangers i meet on the street can somehow understand what's going on in my mind.
married life-different but not different (geez don't you love how girls can't give a straight answer sometimes?=P). i mean, you just get this different vibe, i dunno. like can you love someone more just from getting married? is that not normal? it's like all the qualities you already knew your significant other had and loved about them, just magnifies and you appreciate and love them that much more. not sure if i'm making sense. haha even just seeing how much fun hubby has wearing his ring..hahah, it's awesome. i'm a dork, yes and i comprehend things differently sometimes. but that's my simpleton take on it. and, we've still yet to understand the whole living alone deal. we have our roomie(s)-little sister is crashing with us for the summer. so i'm sure once it's just the two of us, things'll get even funner and we'll still be learning more about each other..nah mean?=P
babies. do we want to have them? yeah eventually. just right now, the mindset isn't there. there's barely enough time to just enjoy ourselves when we get home from work. i can't even imagine how little time we'd get after we have kids. i see how much time weston occupies with my sister and jason. and i know in the end, it's all worth it. but at this very moment, it's just not our time yet. haha, give us about 2-3 years, maybe the maternal feeling will kick in. i know my mom will go crazy cuz she wants more grandkids. ate wants weston to have more playmates. we will, in a few years..right now, we're enjoying being two selfish kids.=)
so okay, back to normal now. have i mentioned how much i love cheese. and salami..mmmmmm. so i've been enjoying wines more than usual, so good. we got a wine rack built in with the new dinner buffet and i like keeping it stocked up. 2 budget friendly and mmmsogood ones...black mountain pinot noir --thanks for introducing it kenny, and barefoot's moscato. while hubby drinks his beers w/ dinners, i've been enjoying me some vino. i wonder, does wine give wine bellies? ack, cuz i don't need that..haha i've been pigging out like crazy since the wedding. hahah.
so after we ran the nike human race, we were already talking about signing up again for the hb half. this time lou said he'd run it (haha though i think it's moreso bc he found out danny's running it so now he has a running partner). the runs not until february, but he wants to start pretrainig. i told him i'd start training in november, he said he'd start his pretraining this week. grrrrreat. and y'know, i'm competitive like that..so i've joined him on a couple of runs=P. go ahead, beat me in triathlons, that's your thing-hehe though i don't even do tri's, can't get myself to do the open swimming..hahah but man, i gotta beat you in a half! please? ha jk.
hubbylou celebrated his 2-9th bday last week. crazy, 29 already? he wanted it simple this year, so took him out to dinner. mmm maki zushi, we tried out their dinner boat this time opposed to our usual run of sushi and sashimi. such a good value! but i'm craving sashimi, so we gotta go back=). his parents..hmm am i suppose to say our parents now?..well anyways, they came by friday and we ate again and just talked about their recent europe trip and showed them wedding pics. yay their trip got us so excited for our italy trip and the eurotrip next year. yahooooozy!
okay so we've started watching j-doramas again. j-what? yeah, we're nerdy like that enjoying the japanese shows/dramas..get it dorama=drama? ha. they're so cute and funny. always inspires me to make us some japanese dinners. haha hope lou's not sick of it yet=P. but yeah, the latest one is set at a musical academy where they all play classical music. pretty good and it got me all into classical music again. haha i filled up my seeqpod at work with my classical tunage playlist. i think beethoven's moonlight sonata will always be my all time favorite. but bc of the show, gershwin's rhapsody in blue is climbing up there=).
alright i'm done. yay can't wait to see baby elijah this weekend!=P

I will remember always that marriage, like life, is a journey - not a destination - and that its treasures are found not at the end but along the way.

phew, it's been awhile. got so busy the past few months that now i can try to recap what's been going on in this life of mine. june was filled with many a late nights getting everything finalized and prepared for july. looking back i can't believe how much we did. but i'm so happy at the turnout of all that hard work. have to thank the familia for hosting such an awesome wedding shower for lou and i. we are blessed to have such great families and friends! hahah june and mid july also saw the lowpoint of our checkbooks=P. but again, i will say that it was all worth it! july 19th was one of the best days of our lives.
on to july. hmm well we just got married and went on our honeymoon. that's about it right? heheh. so i'll do my little cheat recaps and list the highlights. bear with me. as i was writing in my journal at the airport waiting for our flight, i listed so much! i swear i might as well have written an account of the wedding day minute by minute-so many good memories that we just wanted to remember..but i'll just list a few=):
-getting ready with all my bridesmaids the morning of. hehe thanks sisters for being the troopers to get hair and makeup done first, ummm at 5am.
-meeting lou at the japanese bridges in front of the hyatt for our first look=). he looked sooooooooo handsome! hahah too bad i felt all sweaty from that long trek around the lagoon just to get to him...well worth it though. we kept trying to look upwards so that we wouldn't cry. hehe my eyes were getting all watery and glassy.
-if anything went wrong that day..i'd have to thank the wedding party and dorothy for being able to shield lou and i from any of it..because to us, everything pretty much went smoothly=P (ahhh except the stupid limo guy..hahah)
-sitting in the limo with my parents parked in front of the church. i could see everyone entering the church, and spotted lou right away=P. haha and to the silly bridal party-they couldn't see into the limo but they'd keep waving and giving the thumbs up to me. it was just a great happy feeling!
-standing in front of the church doors. i was pretty calm up to this point. i kept telling everyone that i wouldn't cry..probably giggle but no crying. but dude, when those church doors opened i just wasn't expecting what i saw. all these faces turned looking towards my parents and i. there were so many more people at the ceremony than i had expected. the feeling was just overwhelming! plus i get kinda shy when people are just watching you y'know? so umm yeah..first step into the church and i already started sniffling..i swear that walk down the aisle i was alternating between giggles and sniffles. ha, i think i'm looking down in all the pictures i've seen too! oh well. everytime i'd look up i saw all these smiling faces and hear loving words from all our family and friends=P..hehe plus my eyelashes would touch my veil, that was funny to me.
-seeing lou waiting for me at the altar. i keep telling him up to now that i can still see his face that day clearly. heehee hubby was crying too=).
-hehe when my dad stepped on my veil and my head jerked back. oh dad..always knows when to have a comedic moment!
-the beatiful singing by the choir and the music by the pianists..thanks again to anne marie, chris, jay, jovan, noreen, robby & trish.
-father michael presiding over the ceremony. he was a pleasure to work with and we were so excited to have him as our officiant! hehe loved his south african accent too.
-aww when lou's twin nieces mikayla and malea(our flower girls) gave us a hug during the sign of peace saying our wedding was beautiful and they liked my wedding dress..hahah..such cuties!
-walking down the aisle as husband and wife!!!..hahah and us trying to do our gangsta walk..yeah i sucked..hahah
-hehe champagne toasts and hennessey shots with the wedding party in the limo=)
-taking pictures with the wedding party at rainbow harbor and the lighthouse. and thanks to tinz's jeff for stopping by and bringing us chicken nuggets...mmm those were like filet mignon to us that day!=P
-being able to change during the cocktail hour into our filipino apparel. hehe we know the aunties and uncles enjoyed it and of course our friends teasing us.
-the whole cocktail hour was crazy! the rotunda was packed and so was the whole 4th floor bc of the other wedding across the way. but it was still good times. man, only wish i bought more candy for the buffet. i thought that almost 90lbs and some yummy chocolate mochi would at least last the whole cocktail hour...ehhh i was wrong..sorry guys..hehe couldn't get everything right=P. glad that our siggy drink turned out good though. charv told me that you'd either get a really blue one (bc of all the curacao) or a greenish one (bc of all the vodka and lime juice) from the bartenders. ah well..still yum.
-getting hyped up for the grand entrance. perfect timing also for lou and i to sneak into the photobooth..hehe it was finally empty for us=P. singing summertime in the lbc in the hallways with the wedding party..taking shots..the guys tucking their pants into their socks, sillies!..the banquet staff coming by with spanakopitas and bacon wrapped scallops just for us..mmmmmm.
-jovan and jay being such freaking awesome mc's! thank you both again!!!
-charv and walt's drunkard speeches and ate's nadia speech..weirdo!
-the guests singing to lionel ritchie's you are the sun, you are the rain during dinner..ahh i love that song, i'm glad it got played! hehe and kenny leading the singing.
-muahahah the papaya dance for the centerpieces. c'mon you know y'all enjoyed that papaya action!=P
-the slideshow..thank you jason and ate for that. we loved the videos=)..heheh and it was cool when everyone sang to hi-5!
-crazy hubby's acting skills during the garter toss! hope you liked the colts garter=). haha and maemae and erica fighting for the bouquet.
-seeing hubby breakdance!!! man i missed the second show w/ the turtle floats..must've been when i had to use el bano..geez that was a workout in itself w/ charvy trying to help me lift my dress..hehe.
-trying to battle the guys during the money dance, singing "the first time" with all the girls..
-catching up with family/friends and meeting new ones. it was a great day/night and we loved everything about it! woohoo 07.19.08!
-muahaha coming back from our honeymoon and seeing the photo album that the photobooth company mailed us..hehe and a cd with a copy of all the pics taking in the booth that night..y'all are funny!
-the honeymoon was just what we needed..the beach right outside our doors..relaxing under the palapas..eating yummy carribbean foods..parasailing/snorkeling off the pirate ship/renting waverunners..hehe getting a couple's massage on the beach and we each had our first body wrap treatments (i felt like a burrito=P)..mm and the frozen cocktails. aruba was beautiful!
there's so much more i wanted to put..but didn't want to bore you. i have most of it already in my journal for lou and i to remember=). wow we'll already be married 1 month next tuesday. hehe being married is fun, i love it. for some reason when we're out ppl can just tell we're newlyweds..didn't think we'd look different..are we just giving each other googly eyes all the time? haha. yay and we're having fun now decorating our house. all that was put on hold bc of the wedding saving. so it's fun to be able to do all of this with louie boy. little sister even commented, wow your dining room actually looks like a dining room now, all homey. hahah thanks.

Music is the soul of language.
-Max Heindel
first off, just wanted to say congrats to ryanboy and rica and their new baby boy Riley who was born yesterday!! pics later. yay congratulations guys!!!!!!!!!
hahah so is it ghetto that i'm listening to drs' gangsta lean right now? ahaha. freaking jovan got me addicted to using seeqpod so i have all these random playlists that i listen to at work. drs goes under the old school playlist, and for some reason every time it comes on i just start bobbing my head. you know like when you hear dr. dre & snoop for g-thang? so yeah maybe not the most professional music to be listening to, umm since i am a professional. right. i'll switch it up to the 3j's later. awww it's playing 98 degrees because of you! hahah dude that was THE happy song sophomore year at uci. after a long day of classes, i'd open the door to cornell and race over to andree's stereo to blast this song. and it'd just make the day better=). ah the memories. love music!
so i have a bunch of picturesque moments to share. finally! totally lagged on uploading these. some random fun times to share:
me being baboys at work. hehe my coworker took us to this really good cupcake place..yum red velvet. excuse the blurriness, it was from my camera phone. soooooo good.

and now the creme de la creme of yummy goodness. these are the freaking best strawberry croissants EVER!

so good it'll make you drool just seeing them! haha i have proof:

ha, i'm such a mean ninang teasing him with these. poor weston totally wants to eat all the grownup food now. everytime he sees us eating he starts opening his mouth and pretending he's chewing with us also. man, when he saw those croissants he drooled like crazy! mmm i think i want to buy some tomorrow. yums.
this next one was one of those eye googling oh my gosh moments. while we were waiting for our flight to sac for the tahoe weekend we noticed this guy/girl at the bookstore across from our seats.

apologies for the small pic but i didn't have time to crop and zoom in and the smaller size doesn't do it justice. hehe do you see the person wearing the backpack? majority of us say it's a guy. just wearing like horsebackriding pants and boots. heheh. okay well it was funny at the airport.
UPDATE: fifi fixed it for me..gosh, didn't like my pic=P jk. thanks!

now for the bsg fans out there (UPDATE: another correction from lou. i orginally wrote bg fans. to which he quickly emailed and said it's bsg fans not bg fans). saw this at ikea. ikea must be fans too huh?

and for a scratching my head in confusion moment. did i miss something?

were they bought out? i know diedrichs locations got bought out by starbucks..seattle's best too? i guess it makes sense..they're both seattle based. oh nevermind just looked it up. seattle's best is a division of starbucks. geez monopoly!
and finally, the exploitation of my fifi. so thanks to cat, we got to go to the lb grand prix last friday. the expo had all those car booths and some random ones as well. they had the army, navy, coast card, marine booths-which all had fitness tests. well i saw the pullup bar at the marines booth and remembered lou said he won a t-shirt for doing a lot of pullups when the marines booth was at uci.
so yeah, me being the curious gf kept begging him to do it again bc i wanted to see=P. and mr. humble kept on saying how he hasn't worked out as much because he's been sick and could probably only do 8. so we kept watching other guys doing pullups to see how many you needed for a shirt. the most we saw was a guy doing 14 and he only got a lanyard. either way, i kept on asking and finally louie boy gave in=). and i got ready to snap away with the camera. duuuuude he's such a hustler!

hahah..he was up to 15 and i guess the marine said to get to 20 and he'd get a shirt. it was cool cuz the whole crowd started cheering for lou cuz we hadn't seen anyone get a shirt yet. heehee so here i am capturing pullup number 20. ouch i could feel the pain in those muscles..

heehee i was the proud gf that day. geez he's such a hustler. can only do 8. pshhh.
i have to say, last weekend was probably one of the best weekends i've had in a while. took friday off to relax from all the going ons as of late. good decision. the grand prix was awesome. man those cars are fast, on tv they look slower. but up close, man you blink and they're gone already. lou & i also watched planet bboy at the university theater. i think it brought back a lot of hs memories for him. good movie! hung out with friends..ate good food..watched the lakers win=)..just a great weekend in all. thanks fifi=)!
weston's baptism this weekend woohoo. hahah buffet and kings hawaiian dobash after..yuuuuuuum. originally we were suppose to eat at a thai restaurant afterwards but they had a small kitchen fire i think? so ate and jason just decided to do the chinese buffet. anyways the point? hahah the name of the thai restaurant was pookie's thai! hahahah. the end.

first off, just wanted to say congrats to ryanboy and rica and their new baby boy Riley who was born yesterday!! pics later. yay congratulations guys!!!!!!!!!
hahah so is it ghetto that i'm listening to drs' gangsta lean right now? ahaha. freaking jovan got me addicted to using seeqpod so i have all these random playlists that i listen to at work. drs goes under the old school playlist, and for some reason every time it comes on i just start bobbing my head. you know like when you hear dr. dre & snoop for g-thang? so yeah maybe not the most professional music to be listening to, umm since i am a professional. right. i'll switch it up to the 3j's later. awww it's playing 98 degrees because of you! hahah dude that was THE happy song sophomore year at uci. after a long day of classes, i'd open the door to cornell and race over to andree's stereo to blast this song. and it'd just make the day better=). ah the memories. love music!
so i have a bunch of picturesque moments to share. finally! totally lagged on uploading these. some random fun times to share:
me being baboys at work. hehe my coworker took us to this really good cupcake place..yum red velvet. excuse the blurriness, it was from my camera phone. soooooo good.

and now the creme de la creme of yummy goodness. these are the freaking best strawberry croissants EVER!

so good it'll make you drool just seeing them! haha i have proof:

ha, i'm such a mean ninang teasing him with these. poor weston totally wants to eat all the grownup food now. everytime he sees us eating he starts opening his mouth and pretending he's chewing with us also. man, when he saw those croissants he drooled like crazy! mmm i think i want to buy some tomorrow. yums.
this next one was one of those eye googling oh my gosh moments. while we were waiting for our flight to sac for the tahoe weekend we noticed this guy/girl at the bookstore across from our seats.

apologies for the small pic but i didn't have time to crop and zoom in and the smaller size doesn't do it justice. hehe do you see the person wearing the backpack? majority of us say it's a guy. just wearing like horsebackriding pants and boots. heheh. okay well it was funny at the airport.

I have no idea why after every race, the week following I pig out on junk food and I don't work out. Okay so i do know why, I just ran a freaking race. I can eat/do whatever I want, shaddup! hahaha. So what is it I'm oinking on right now? Flamin' Hot FUNYUNS!!! I had no idea they started doing flamin' hots for funyuns. I just saw them at CVS on my break today so I felt the need to try them out. Not bad. First bite, still has that onion-y crunch, and then hotness. mmm yum. man i love me some flamin' hot foods. dude, i think my nose is starting to run too. i hate how my fingers start turning red though. i try to wipe them after every bite but it always happens. baboys man. baboys!
so, like danielle said we ran the great race of agoura, woohoo for the half marathon. as a kid i remember running the 1 mile race, heheh and having no idea where i was going just kept running on ahead. so gotta love the idea that now we have a half we can run in the hometown=).
okay so anyways, about the half. ummm yeah, my estimation on the uphill being from miles 5-8 was a bit off. we ended up running on the trails for miles 3-10. and every time we'd go up a hill, we're like hmm not so bad. when i looked at my watch i figured we were around mile 7, so after the inclines we had afterwards i'd tell danielle "okay i think that was the 700ft incline, we should be done." hahah yeah i was sooooo off on that one. we got over one incline and as we turned the corner danielle was all, "chris look up." dude i think my jaw dropped. up ahead as we're climbing upwards was this humungoid hill where the path just curves all windy and the people look like ants. everyone basically walked that part bc the path was kinda narrow and plus it was a nice little rest. but once you get to the top of that hill, the view was pretty awesome! then we ran again, got our knees sprayed by something similar to the salonpas spray..felt so good! and then it was all downhill/flat from there. once we got out of the trails we realized we just finished mile 10. not so bad.
hahah the funniest though had to be these other 2 girls in the race. during the trail run portion, the path gets kinda narrow so it's hard to pass up people in front of you. so there were times that if me & danielle saw any type of gap, we'd bum rush to get past those people. there were two girls (not running together) who it always seemed we were playing tag with because we'd pass each other then they'd pass us and it'd go back and forth. after we got out of the trails, danielle noticed one of the girls ahead. hehe and i guess during the run we had been thinking the same thing bc when she said, hey wanna pass her? i was like HECK YEAH! haha so we run by girl #1. then wayyyyy up ahead danielle notices the shirt of girl #2. haha dude you didn't even have to ask what to do next. we sprinted by her, and what's funny is i totally heard her grunt all loud as we passed her. haha. so yeah those were our race markers i guess? then it was a sprint to the finish. no pr, but 2:22 isn't too bad for not training consistently. man my farthest training run i did was 7 miles. sad huh? so let's hope next year i get it together. heehee. woohoo to the great race. y'all know you want to run it with us next year. c'mon voted the best post race afterparty for the past 5 years..ha, but don't know about this year=P.
spent the weekend in agoura after the race. got to hang out at danielle's new place afterwards, soooo nice! i love the view=). and hung out with the fambam for the rest of the weekend. geez my nephew is getting big. so cute, he can sit up on his own now! reminder: must post pics of weston. i attended this godparents class we're suppose to take since i'm going to be his ninang. haha, our team leader said it would be nice if when we see weston we do a little blessing everytime we see him, anything we wanted. haha so when we saw weston afterwards, charvy and my cousin jason were all like, weston expelliarmus, weston expecto patronus..and yadda yadda. hehe me? i did my own umm german blessing=P. bad bad i know, it was just for fun! okay fine, guess it was funnier when it happened.
ahhh hump day. that phrase still cracks me up.

after all the craze..i still have a weakness for boba=). mmm. if ever i crave it at work, at least there's little tokyo's senka cafe to fulfill the taste. sooooo good! good flavor for a regular milk tea and the boba is always soft and chewy. i hate when i go to places and the flavor is so bland and too watery and the freaking boba is all hard.
so yay it's friday. the weekend couldn't have come at a nicer time. lots of stuff that i need to catch up on and get to see some familiar faces tomorrow=). should be fun. especially if we're going to make a pit stop at the carlsbad outlets. well not like i can buy anything right now, but always feels nice just walking around and relaxing for a bit.
is it a sign of getting old if my wrists feel so prone to carpal tendonitis right now? my knees still ache after a good run? sometimes my heels hurt in the morning-stupid plantar fasciitis? i started to get lace bite from my running shoes? (which i think i fixed so far). and that my arse got worked by peters canyon this past saturday? no right? okay good=).
man, so lou finally got my lazy ass back to peters canyon on saturday. seeing as how the agoura half is next saturday it's about time i ran the canyon. we used to run it a lot when training for the mud run and it helped out soooooo much during the run bc there's a few trail inclines. i think the highest one is about a 500 ft elevation change, so good training right? yeah, i could barely finish the first incline, let alone the last one. i guess the main motivation is seeing lou run ahead of me so i keep trying to catch up to him. i hate how he can still beat me at those inclines=P.
i was so sore on sunday, it hurt to go up and down stairs! and to think, the agoura run has us going through the canyon trails in the Santa Monica mountains...ahhh with an elevation change of more than 700 ft=/. and of course this occurs mainly during miles 5-8! talk about exhausting, then it's all downhill from there. but man running downhill is such a workout on your thighs! dude what were danielle and i thinking? oh well, it should be interesting. i'm sure you'll get an update from me afterwards. i'm scared.
i have no idea why i'm so particular about certain things. and i have trouble asking people for help. i like to do things on my own, especially when i'm having fun doing them. but i guess when it starts getting to the point that i can't fall asleep bc i keep thinking about things, when i'm taking control of things that i really shouldn't be doing, and i don't get to spend much time with louie boy...then i guess it's time for reinforcements. ahhhhhh.

The most wasted day of all is that during which we have not laughed.

dude i lag. totally though i'd update more this year, but things have been quite hectic these days. i'm so esleepy mang. since work found out i wasn't running the marathon, i got to work it instead. woohoo to 3am shifts=/. and now i'm feeling the effects of working yesterday. heavy head and droopy eyes, sooo tired. i hope that's all it is, can't be getting sick right now. poor louieboy is at home sick with the flu. trying my best to stay healthy=).
i'm eating a pluot right now. what's a pluot you might ask? well according to our wiki friend : It is a complex cross hybrid of plum and apricot, being ¾ plum and ¼ apricot in percentage. Can't really taste so much apricot, but it is sweet. well except the skin part, it's still sour like a plum. pretty good though.
so i've been wanting to blog this forever. just that my dad is soooo funny and cute. here are my two instances:
1) walk over to his cube (yes we work in the same department) and he's on mapquest. you know how when you enter your address, there's a line above it that says Place Name (optional) e.g Airport blah blah? hahaha well when he was typing he wrote out his full name on the Name part, then filled out our address like usual. i was like what're you doing dad, you don't have to put that. and he was so adamant that you do and said he wrote it all the time. ahhhh funny dad.
2) feb. 13. dad calls and tells me to go over to his desk. so i walk there, aww and he gives me a necklace. says he got one for my mom and us 3 sisters. haha i'm like dad you're one day early! he just laughs and says it's okay, early happy valentine's. soooooooo cute. my dad is so goofy that it's funny seeing him all sentimental. he was so proud of himself too when he said he picked it out and everything.
yeah, had to write it. cuz i know when i get in my funk moods w/ my parents, i need to remind myself of the silly things they can do. then it'll cheer me up and realize i'm being a moron and get over it.
why does it feel like there's no time for anything anymore. even just for a simple cup of chai, i feel like i have to drink it fast bc there's something that needs to be done. aww i miss the simple days of being a kid..don't we all? at least we got to spend some time with the fam on saturday. that's always good. hahah especially when it's drama free=P

man..finally able to blog. february now huh? january went by in a flash. highlight was being able to go boarding in tahoe! it just ignited the itch to go all the time now because of all the good snow we've been getting. ahhh this saving thing makes it so hard=P. maybe a local trip to the mountain at least?
completed the hb surf city half this past sunday. dude it was the craziest run ever. we kept getting weather reports of rain for sunday, but after picking up our packet on saturday there were NO clouds in the sky. so maybe the rain wasn't going to show up? wrong. it was pouring rain come sunday morning, the ocean view looked all gloomy, and the wind chill factor was a biznatch!
in the beginning it was like..aww man we have to run in this weather? me & danielle kept hopping from tent to tent trying to stay dry before our lineup. then we were off and the initial shock of running in the rain kicked in. freaking a they didn't even offer ponchos! thanks danielle for convincing me to wear lou's hat, dont think the dri-fit hood and head warmer would've been enough=). haha, by mile 7 i think we were both just numb and drenched that we just kept going. it actually wasn't as bad as we originally thought. i think talking the whole time helped to alleviate some attention off of the crappy weather. i was aiming for under 2:15:00, which i thought with my lack of training in january would be hard to reach and that the weather would just make it harder.
well, for some reason we didn't do too shabby. 2:15:02! i think we might've gone under that had we known the mile markers. the last one we recalled seeing was mile 9. haha we were too busy talking that i forgot to look at my watch to see our pace. it wasn't until we saw the mile 26 marker for the marathoners when their race merged with ours did we realize we were almost done. so we sprinted those last 0.2 miles to the finish and crossed. albeit with these little girls blocking our way to the finish line because they wanted to cross the line when their mom showed up. i know, sweet right? ha, but man when you're trying to reach a pr, it's not so sweet=P..jk!

so despite the weather. not a bad race! although right now, my knees would beg to differ=P. sorry andree and cicely that we didn't get to meet up in all the hecticness. haha but dude i gotta thank cicely for reminding me of my bib! danielle and danny had already picked me up and in the rush of grabbing my umbrella (which i have no idea why i brought it!) i forgot my timing chip and bib #!!! i didn't even realize it until i was talking to cicely on the phone and we were about to figure out where to meet in the lineup. she asked what my start time would be and that it should say it on my bib. haahah to which i exclaim "oh shi%! i forgot my biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiib!" ahh that was a close one!
so here's looking to next year's surf city run and cool surfboard medal! hopefully with better weather and the knowledge to put sunblock on even if you're wearing running capris! blehhh nasty tan line i gotta get rid of=P. hmm pv half..still debating. the sf half that jovan mentioned sounds tempting. but man, don't think i'll be in good training bc of the wedding. but oooh running on the golden gate bridge, nice!
oh yeah, and how could i forget? what about them giants?!

boo, oh how i wish i didn't drop my camera=(. still need to get my lens looked at to see if it's fixable. after talking to my co-worker about it, i'm crossing my fingers hoping that it's just the filter that got damaged. i think i'm just chicken to take it in to the camera shop bc i don't want to hear that i have to spend mucho $$ to get a new lens. bad timing. at least i have lou's camera to play with until mine's ready. ehhhhh film just gets too expensive these days to maintain. maybe i'll just use it for b&w photos? i love the grainy look of it, adds some zest to a pic. haha zest.
yay we finally got to watch juno this past weekend. thanks joes and karen! awesome movie like i expected. ellen page is quite the funny one with all the dialogue. lou seemed to like the dad's character. haha "...next time i see that bleeker kid, i'm going to punch him in the weiner..." haha i love that line for some reason.

now if i can just get lou to watch 27 dresses! yeah right, hehe i think i'm on my own for that one. so after watching the bourne ultimatum new year's eve..lou wanted to watch the rest of the trilogy over again. so we saw bourne identity last night. maybe supremacy sometime this week. but yeah, jason bourne is freaking awesome. hahah like 007 on crack, he's just crazy cool like that man.
so lou got me into watching house with him. good show. we're on season 2 right now. makes me question everything about doctors/hospitals now. ewwww and more paranoid about all the germs around me and the food i eat. yuuuuuuck. can't believe that maggots part in one episode. nasty dude, just nasty.
ahh rain. finally found my little green umbrella. cute umbrellas are nice, but that's about it. i get all nervous when it's windy bc my umbrella might do that flipping thing. ah embarassing. oh well, still a cute umbrella.
less than a month til the half. just two more long runs to go. crazy i say. had to do the 8 miler at the gym yesterday because it was raining. at least i had the giants game to keep me distracted, made the time fly by. except i was suuuuuuuuuper hungry. i remember training for the marathon and having to do the 18-miler on a treadmill too cuz it was also raining. wow i'm still shocked at that one. i wonder if i still have it in me to be that disciplined? ehhh but too much strain on my knees. finally realizing it's not worth it to sustain long term injuries. hehe, so i'll just stick with the half. debating about the pv half in may. just gotta keep myself disciplined. y'know, need to fit into my dress and all=P.
yay i hope this rain puts up a big dump of snow up at tahoe. woohoo only 2 more weeks to go. hopefully it's not blizzard weather like it was 2 years ago. that was scary. don't think i've ever been that scared going on the lift. it was all windy and the lifts were freaking swaying like crazy. i thought we were going to flip over or something. and you could barely see going down the mountain bc it was snowing all over the place. note to self: need to get new goggles!!!
don't you just hate when you've been eyeing a pair of boots/shoes for awhile. and when you finally get your lazy butt out to go and buy them..they don't have your size? bah. it's a sign. no new boots for me=(. but i need to spend my gift caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard!!!! i will search and search til i find my size. i shall not rest. ha, drama.
