yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay congratulations johnjohn and ivy=). i swear 2007 is the year huh? hahah, so happy for you both! sorry johnjohn that i didn't hear my phone=P. ahhh and happy belated bday to miss ivy as well!

glad it's finally friday. still not sure what we're going to do tonight..but whatever we decide should be fun nonetheless right? hmm not so much to blog about right now..i just wanted to say yay to the two earlier, cuz i forgot to blog it wed. night. so we'll just go with random thoughts for now.

-it's funny how if you eat something salty you crave for something sweet afterwards and vice versa.

-me & fifi got to watch a free prescreening of license to wed at the new tustin amc. see, being a kbig community person paid off..haha. woohoo first to see a movie screening at that theater. man, that place is going to be packed once everything is done=/. and the movie wasn't too bad either=).

-korean bbq is so freaking yum!

-came this close (pinching my fingers really close) to buying our grill on wednesday. boo to bad the only one they had left in stock was the one on display. i dunno, i really wanted a brand new one i guess.

-trader joe's parmesan and garlic pita chips are so bomb!..haha so are spicy shrimp chips. well not the chips but those stick ones.

-yuck my back is starting to peel now.

-top chef and so you think you can dance are fun to watch.

-riding a bike for a long time hurts my pelvic bone/thigh area. maybe i need those supercool padded bike shorts?

-haha i used to wear bike shorts with my l.a. gear shoes and double tank tops when i was in elementary school. they were the coolest back then!

-stupid pigeons keep sitting on one section of our roof and sh*%tting on our patio. man need to tell the association.

-i can't stand stupid people.

-i love rewatching friends and hana yori dango=P

-cheerios w/ the blueberry burst ones are pretty good

-can't believe it'll be july on sunday already!

-bah i have to work again on sunday.

-i wonder where we'll watch fireworks this year? love me some fireworks.

-heehee the fireworks show at disneyland after fantasmic was where me & louieboy first held hands=)..awww. ha!

-ruffles and salsa are muy bueno.

-hmm i noticed i made a lot of remarks on food. haha

ahh the beach was lovely. weather was great, water was cool, sun was shining. i had a nice relaxing time at newport. what isn't so lovely is the nasty sunburn i got on my back=(. it's in such ugly spots too! imagine 2 red huge blotches of sunburnt skin on your shoulder blade area. I wore my little fisherman hat so that my face wouldn't get dark and I guess it shaded the top middle of my back and kept the rest of my skin exposed to the sun. Ha, it's sooooooooo ugly! I went to the beach to get rid of my wifebeater tan lines in front, and I end up getting more nasty tan lines in back.

boo and you know what else sucks? I brought my slr in case I saw something worthy of my film to shoot, hahah. So of course I do see something. Cute dolphins swimming and jumping near the shore. Now I've seen school of dolphin at the beach before but this was different. They were so freaking close to the shore jumping around by all the bodyboarders and people just standing around. It was crazy! At one point I had that flashback again of the Simpson's where the dolphins take over the world and freaked out a bit. But then they started jumping and stuff that they were cute again in my eyes=). Anyways, I go to my bag to grab my camera and as I'm taking it out of the case I see pieces of glass. Yeah, I forgot to mention that as i was grabbing all my stuff to bring to the beach I dropped my camera. I didn't think it damaged my camera though bc of the case. booo...there goes my fd 35-105. i'm trying to figure out if it's better to just replace the outer portion of glass that got shattered or just get a whole new lens altogether. at first i got relieved thinking only the uv filter got shattered, but now i'm not too sure what else broke. so i better take it to the camera guy again.

lesson learned: don't be a freaking clutz! oh well, i can't complain though. i was able to get some really good shots with that lens. and i did have an awesome time at the beach..so, all good.

happy hour at the edison was pretty cool. it reminds me of a huger version of the basement in downtown long beach. pretty laid back lounge area. had me a few soco and pineapples and of course my shot of patron! on the car ride home i think i was like a non-stop talking machine..ahhaha. my co-worker had a breathalizer in his car so of course we all tested it out..it went from 0.03, 0.056, and mine..0.079. lucky i wasn't the driver! but then again i still was under the legal b/a level!

so whenever me & lou go on mini roadtrips in my car, we like to burn a cd just for the trip. the latest one was for the mudrun drive and it's full of all these random songs. every time i listen to it now i always repeat nuthin but a g thang, summertime in the lbc, lionel ritchie's you are and pop goes my heart (music and lyrics soundtrack). ahahha it's freaking awesome! i love those songs. nothing like bumping the music with the windows rolled down and singing like who gives a f#&*! haha. you know y'all have those moments too=).

had such a lazy filled weekend. well except for yesterday, had to come in for work. but other than that...the weekend was so relaxing. i caught up on some old movies..watched monster-in-law, that movie w/ katie holmes where she's the president's daughter, fantastic 4, need to finish up bend it like beckham. hehe that movie's so funny! mmmm and i liked watching michael vartan in monster-in-law, he's sooo yum! always give me that "awww" you're so cute feeling! like when he was running down the bleachers to kiss drew barrymore in never been kissed. man i love that scene!!

and now..it's only monday...here we go.

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
-Mahatma Gandhi

it's funny how a 5 minute phone conversation can totally cause a 180 in your mood. well i'm okay now..but dude..30 minutes ago i was fuming and wishing we had a punching bag in the common area of our cubes. i really hate stupid, ignorant people. now yes, i may make stupid, ignorant comments by accident mind you! but i would not make point blank accusations about something i know nothing about. do some research first biznatch before you start speaking garbage from your mouth. it sucks too when your initial intention is calling them back to help them deal with a complaint they have..only to have them turn around and start going off on you on things you have no control over. but whatever if she just needed to let it out fine. i just wish i could've punched her on the other end of the line before i hung up on her=). stupid woman.

it's okay, i believe in karma. so she'll get her share of it one day. muahahhah. okay that's mean. but man, she was superduper mean! ehhhh.

so yay going to go to happy hour with the co-workers today. trying out some new place called the edison? ha, well since i'm all late going with them i doubt it's still new. oh well. so after today's events i think i'll be drinking me some patron=). then again, i'm kinda iffy about getting buzzed around the work peoples. i've always had that thing about keeping my work life separate from my home life. we'll see how it goes. i don't want to have that burned out feeling while i'm here, so might as well make the best of it with the people i get along with. right? right.

woohoo today's my friday! i came in on my monday off this week so i'm gonna be all bummy tomorrow. i'm thinking of lounging at the beach to get rid of the nasty wifebeater tan i got from the mudrun..heheh..hope the weather is still good. any takers, give me a call tomorrow=).

It's kind of fun to do the impossible.
-Walt Disney

sooooooooo glad it's friday. somehow today feels like it's going to be a long, slow day at work though. oh well, at least friday's are really quiet around here. i wonder if i can leave a little earlier today=). ooh seems like friday is off to a good start. heheh my co-worker who's off on fridays just called to say that she forgot her fruit tart from porto's bakery in the fridge yesterday. and guess who gets to have it now...that's right..M-E! hahahah..

yay so i finally got to use my williams and sonoma gift card this week. ha, and what'd i buy? a yummy cupcake book! i'm really anal when it comes to my baking stuff. if it doesn't taste really good to me, then i'm kind of embarrassed to let other people have them. so far i've been pretty okay w/ the cupcakes i've baked. but i am disappointed in my red velvet ones though. i need to improve on that recipe though because i like the frosting for it=). i flipped through the book i got and man, it's freaking yum-o! i could be in that store forever..hehe. but yeah, excited to bake all those cupcakes! too bad fifi doesn't have too much of a sweet tooth for that kind of stuff. now, if i can figure out a way to incorporate gummy bears/worms into the recipe..haha maybe that'll get him hooked!

mud run is this weekend. can't wait. i'm thinking we should do a little better than we did last year. haha seeing as how we stopped and took pictures like every freaking minute=P. too bad we're not doing it as teams this year. i wonder how we're going to do it then? because it's way more fun as a group then running and doing the obstacles by yourself. i'm mean, who wants to play in the mud by themselves?

you know what show has gotten me and lou hooked? how i met your mother. it all started at the ternberry housewarming. haaha thanks a lot tommy! just kidding. that show is awesome. we finished the first season yesterday and started season 2. hey tommy, did you know you and ted have similar black blazers and y'all wear them the same way?=). could you imagine going to a pub/bar every night? luckies! they have one right next door to them. hehe. that's always a nice way to unwind. too bad we take the train home. it's hard to go to happy hours with my co-workers here in downtown. and then by the time we get home, happy hours are almost done. i wonder if we can find some in tustin that last until 7 at least. anyone? anyone?

before i forget....happy birthday elainamaboppers!!!!!!!!! have a good one=)

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain.
-Maya Angelou

i think that's been me lately. always complaining about work blah blah yadda yadda. i know fifi must be tired of it all. so i'm trying to change it up a bit. if it'll work, who knows. at least i tried right? otherwise i'll be stuck in a rut for i don't know how long. it's one of those things where you just dread coming in to work. like really..where you just want to call in sick or use your vacation time so that you don't have to deal with it all anymore. is it burnout? i dunno. i read some article about it last week and i agreed with a lot of the causes/effects. i know i need a change. we'll see how it goes.

a few weeks ago a bunch of us ce's had like a mini reunion for happy hour. so we all got the typical how are you/how's work? intro when we started our conversations. you know what the consensus was with the how's work? that we all must've chosen the wrong major because we either want out of our job or we've already moved on to non-engineering prospects. ha, it was like an epiphany..no wonder our class was so close..none of us were meant to be engineers! yeah we passed our classes, had our study groups together, drank at the pub on numerous occassions. but i wonder if any of us really enjoy what we're doing or we're just bored? while i was getting a recommendation to read "who stole my cheese" to help me get out of this yuck feeling about work, i started laughing because obviously reading "the quarter-life crisis" didn't help me out. ha.

i guess we all go through this at some point in our life? i have no idea what'll happen over the next few years. i just hope the decisions i'm making will of course be for the better. i really don't like the burnout feeling. it just makes things so unbearable sometimes.

anyways..i told louieboy that i'm done lifting weights to strengthen my back. ahhhh i so didn't think that it would give me muscles in my back! man, i feel like my back got a little wider..boo no bueno!

thanks everyone for all the kind words/condolences about my lolo passing away. it's weird i guess. this whole coping with death thing. i mean i understand it all, but for some reason i just get in denial that he passed away. and when i think how i just saw him for his birthday before he passed away i get all sad. even yesterday, i've been re-watching friends on the train ride going home right? of course the episode is "the one where nana dies...twice." there's this one part w/ the sweet 'n low and ross...and i just start getting all teary eyed and start crying. i guess it's a normal cycle of dealing with this all. i'm just not used to it. but it's okay, i really should stop this crying. i know lolo's not in pain anymore and he's with lola and nanay and tatay (what we call my my mom's parents) and their all watching over us and smiling=).

phew that's a lot.

A university professor set an examination question in which he asked what is the difference between ignorance and apathy. The professor had to give an A+ to a student who answered: I don't know and I don't care.
-Richard Pratt

ha. i like that one. too bad that never happened to me in school. i remember when we were applying for college we heard this story about some kid's college entrance essay. he/she was applying to one of the ivy league schools (forgot which one) and all they wrote for their essay was something like : This is my college entrance essay. And that was it. Supposedly they got into the college because the school found it gutsy and unique. Hmmm to this day I still don't know whether or not that was for real, but if so..lucky sumumabeetch. haha.

been pretty hectic these past 2 weeks. my lolo's been pretty sick since last last sunday so we were all really jumpy those first few days. bad word to use i know..hmmm, scared?sad?anxious?nervous? i dunno, i've never really been good at handling things like this. i'm always in denial when it comes to this kind of stuff. i like to think that all my elders will live in my life forever. selfish i guess huh?

my lolo is my last surviving grandparent. and he's pretty much the one we got the closest too and who watched over us while we were kids. then he moved to corona to help out my aunt when we got a little older. and with a lot of family ish that's happened over the past few years it's been really hard to see him frequently. and then when we found out he got really sick we were all there, well most of us at least. i could barely stand to see him in the hospital. it's really weird for me to see him like that. i still always picture him with his black plastic rimmed glasses and his slow but steady gait with his happy smile.

we visited him for about 4 days straight and then i had to go back to work. this past weekend i heard he's been doing better, finally conscious and speaking to my dad and his brothers/sisters. i know i should go back to visit some more. i know this. but a big part of me is scared because i don't want to see him in pain. i don't want to know that something else might happen to him. if i know he's getting better than things will be okay. and as i'm typing this, i know how selfish i'm sounding. i'm not that little kid anymore that used to try to sneak out and play w/ the neighbors when lolo said i should stay and play with my little sister. i'm not that kindergartner that lolo picked up everyday afterschool, taking the rtd bus and then pushed me in my big kid stroller all the way back home. i'm an adult, more or less=P. i should be there now since he's the one who needs us all the most this time. but he's my lolo, i still look up to him like he's invincible. arghhh i can't stand this. i can only hope and try my best right now. thanks to all for your kind thoughts and prayers.=)

things really do have a strange way of working out on their own. lou always likes to remind me that if something doesn't work out the way we had hoped, no worries because something better will come along. and so far he's been right. we've been so lucky with how things have worked themselves out, it's freaking awesome.

no idea if i should change my template to this thing. my comments are gone. my archives have disappeared. but i don't really see a layout that hasn't already been taken or that looks pleasing to me. ahhh am i ready for change? ha.

anyways i'm so behind in work. bah at least it's friday. feliz cinco de mayo peoples! be safe, be merry. who's got the don julio or patron?=P

heehee and happy early birthday mr. ninomlahlah (per your students..hehehe)
