aaaaand i'm back. it's a been a while huh? feels like i've said that in all my past blogs since i lag on writing. i think yelp, FB, and laziness have just gotten the better of me this past year. so i'll give my blog another try..heheh at the encouragement of danielle who's gotten back into the blogging scene again. i kinda miss reading everyone's blog during lunch=P. c'mon friends, get your creative minds back to the blogging world!
so, today for the very first time in my life...i'm VOTING!!! sad no? i guess i was one of those people..yep, THOSE people who never really thought voting mattered. i mean, what can my one measly vote do? but the older i got, the more i started to realize that...shit man..this stuff really does affect me. pardon the cursing, but it's true. i mean, i really wanted to vote in the '08 election..haha so my reasoning of "hey we were out of the country" shouldn't matter because we could've done an absentee ballot. but this time it affects both hubby and i and our jobs. so i'm finally getting off my lazy butt and putting in my 2 cents on this whole voting mumbo jumbo. ha! though i'm not too familiar with some of the measures/people running so to be fair, i'm going to leave those spots blank. hopefully the voting polls aren't too crazy when we get home! i'm actually quite interested to see how this all goes down. hahah my voting obsessed sisters will be proud=P.
i just took the last part of my board exam on saturday. can we say torture? i loathe the fairplex..it just brings back horrible memories of this test whenever i go back. i'm praying i did well enough to pass and be done with it already. i'll find out in 3 months=/. should've studied harder, but there was so much going on sept/oct that i was easily distracted. no bueno! keeping my fingers crossed.
so i'm happy to say that i completed the cal dreamin' series this year! ran the HB/SF/LB half marathons and received my cool cali medal and jacket at the long beach half. i think i even set a new PR, but only a few seconds faster than my OC half in May '09. haha note to self: do not drink the night before the race. beer is a reward at the post-race beer tent! hahah. but yeah, i'm hoping if i do another half i can go under 2:10:00 this time. i enjoy running though my knees sometimes hate me for it.
just lately i feel stagnant. i don't know why, maybe i've just ran too many halves? i was even considering doing another marathon, though i know my doc will be against it bc of my knees=(. so, i've started to thinking about getting into tri's. which has made hubby so so happy, he can't wait to train with me. but i haven't given a for sure yes yet...i'm still horribly scared of open water swimming. thinking about trying those swim clinics to see if i'm open to do a full tri. now duathlon's i have absolutely no problem getting into since it's run, bike, run...but lou keeps trying to encourage me to overcome my fear of open water swimming. we'll see. would be an interesting experience though.
so goes the ongoing debate for probably our last big vacay...south africa (yes for me!) or japan again. i know japan again, what??? hahah but it's so freaking fun there. love the food, people, atmosphere, culture...it's just a whole new world there. it'd be our 3rd visit, but there's still so much we can see and learn. but south africa has always been on my list of places to go. hehe i wanna go on a safari=P. guess i shouldn't look so far ahead yet. with the crazy fiscal year...better wait to see how the voting goes, there's a lot at stake this time around.
whew long post. too much to say. let's hope for another post this week...
